Shoal Bay West Beach
Located in the western part of Shoal Bay West, 2.0 miles south west of Meads Bay, this beach is on the South West coast of Anguilla. You should consider stopping by whether or not you are staying particularly close by. Active and social travelers might like this beach because of its urban location. In fact, Shoal Bay West is a favorite of hotel guests in the area, and those who don’t mind large groups of people.
The best way to the beach is to park at Trattoria Tramonto and walk to beach. Chairs are free if you eat/drink at the trattoria. We saw various people not get chairs from the trattoria and there were no issues. The beaches are all public. Beautiful soft loose light brown sand beach. Not clear water at two feet deep with an undertow pulling out with small/medium waves. The ocean floor is smooth with few rocks. There is a drop off on the beach to the ocean. Recommend getting drinks/eating at Trattoria Tramonto as it is the best quality and the best price wise on the beach. There is also a snack bar here. Sometimes, visitors will be able to buy some food from one of the mobile vendors who typically set up at this spot.
Unfortunately, you won’t find any public restrooms along this coastline, so if you’re visiting with small children you might want to consider a different location. Fortunately, the water here is clear enough for snorkeling, so grab some gear if you want to do some underwater exploration. Shoal Bay West is a secluded beach, so visitors need not worry about huge crowds. It does border popular Maunday’s Bay, however, so it’s not completely isolated.
